  • Is this diet ok?

Im 5,11 and 197 pounds atm was 209 before i started some weeks ago, im hoping to get down too 165-175 and then build up muscle in my arms/shoulders and go back up to 180-190 or so. I am kinda shaped strangely though my abs with a couple more weeks exercise and diet will be completely ripped. But i have a load of weight on my legs/ass which i really want to shift badly and not sure what is the best way..

Im currently on a diet like this:

Special K full bowl (no milk/sugar) breakfeast
    Protein shake (10-11 am)
    Salmon/cucumber sandwich (lunch)
    Couple of apples (2-4pm)
Protein bar (Dinner) or Chciken + vegetables
    Protein shake (8-9pm)

+ Centrum vitamins and fish oil tablets
+ 30mins cycling or jogging + gym weights working all areas

Im told that the diet is ****** and i am at risk of really hurting myself if i continue but i have noticed lots of progress in weight loss and really want to continue with it

wtf...thats horrible. you should know diets are unnecessary. its all about moderation, your body will let you know when it doesn't like what u eat..by excess weight in places u don't want it etc..

protein shakes are also wack IMO. i'd compare myself to something of a black version of Michelangelo(the statue). you do not need protein shakes. eat fish 3-4 times a week, mix it up with some lean meats(chicken, beef whatever u want), get the proper carbs(rice, sweet potato, yams, corn/veggies) and you'll be good.

all that diet talk is nonsense man

Add some protein to your breakfeast. Make sure to variate your nutrition most days with different foods. Losing weight (cutting) and gaining muscle (bulking) are at the same time hard to do efficiently. To bulk you need more calories than your maintenence and opposite for cutting. I see you have your objective of cutting and have planned. I dont see how what your doing atm is THAT bad for health but make sure you dont lose too much weight and realise when its time to maintain/bulk.

For reference, are you a boxer?

Also... If your truely dedicated you could try swapping special k (which has some sugar in) for a near perfect breakfeast of oatmeal with water. Also you can try some pure green tea which has amazing proven benefits to aid cutting and general health. Just google it

*Regardless of whats been said, consider going to see a doctor and get a professional judgement*.

That looks real good man. If you feel okay keep it up. People were telling me dieting was ****** but i look at it as eating right. the better you eat the better your body is going to respond.
