Scratch the boxercise mebership and apply the funds towards the boxing gym membership. You'd probablly spend just as much, if not more on the gas it's going to cost getting back and forth with a car. How are you planning on paying for that? Use that money for the bus in the meantime. 20 minutes on the bus is nothing. If you're not willing to make a sacrifice like that, then I hate to tell you, but boxing is not for you.

if it was just once a week then that would be ok but i will want to train most days. im also gettign a motorbike , not car so the fule will be considerable cheaper than the £3.60 bus fare. but this thread is kinda going off course. i know i cant hope to progress much untill i join a real boxing gym but it woud be nice to start. how far sideways are you suposed to be to your oponent? everyone seems to say different. i feel like i can puch best at about 45 degrees. is this about right? thanks

Don't worry about techniques for now, focus on strength and cardio until you're at a boxing gym with a coach.
