I was just wondering, im an outside fighter and yesterday i sparred an outside fighter.. when we got in the ring we both sort of stood there waiting for the other to make a move, it sort of just ended up in alot of jabbing. Anyone got any advice/tips on what to do in this matchup, ty.

Yeah, what was said previously. You don't have a "style" till later in your progression as a fighter and even then FOLLOW THE RULES.
-Don't box with a boxer.
-Don't Slug with a slugger.
-Don't punch with a puncher.
You have to be the smarter "boxer" in there, which means. YOU set the pace. You bring the fight intelligently. Counter his stubborn need to stick to what he's comfortable with by pressing the action. He will have to show you all his tricks to keep you out, and you will have initiative. If he's smart he's smart he will start counter-punching, and if you are smart(er) you will read that and catch him with you out-boxing.
It doesn't have to turn into a chess match. You can out-box him by out-thinking him.

No offense, I'm sure your a great guy..... but I hate outside boxers. Boring, and usually afraid to get hit. If that is your strength thats great, use it. But don't box if you do it because you don't want to get hit. Get in there and mix it up. Even if you don't like inside fighting you still need to know how. Never know, you might just like it
