Well in terms of stregth its all back to the basics that you can read on any site.

For strength low reps of high weight.

For mass lower weight more reps.

You dont need to do anything till muscle failure...There is no point.

Every person is different, you have to learn your body and see how it affects you. Problem is with learning ones body is that it takes months and months if not years. And people in this day and age want instant google answers and results.

Remeber every persons body is very differnt, and what works for one guy wont work for another.

You gain more power but not as much endurance not working till failure while you gain more endurance and not as much power when you do.

but thats just what some studys showed of course in the comparisons each person was be doing diffrent exercises with diffrent sets and reps as well as diffrent rest times in order to make it fit into the requirements for the study so there are diffrent factors.

most the studys showed an overall increase in hormones but the non failure group was mainly an increase in testosterone while the failure groups had increases in some GH's and cortisol while decreases in IGF-1 levels an anabolic muscle growth hormone.

its good to train to failure in order to improve though there is the danger of muscle damage i would do a mixture of both type of exercises
