how often should you change up your routine to avoid plaigue? And how much of a difference should you make?

I'm not a huge believer in the muscle confusion theory... not to say that there isn't some truth to it, but I'm not certain to what degree. I think the most likely reason for changing workouts is for function (if you want to be more explosive, or put on mass, etc.) or for boredom. If you're bored, switch it up. For me, I've gotten the best results from straying away from the typical "lift more, lift heavier" mentality, and just focused on form and quality reps... I rotate my workouts frequently, but don't stray too far from a core set of exercises that I continue to progress with.

I change my workouts every 6-8 weeks.

I used to do the same routine for over 6 months and realized I wasn't going anywhere. That's when I started switching things up more often. It's worked for me.

The difference isn't monumental but it's noticeable.

Muscle confusion DOES work, as mentioned above 6 to 8 weeks is about the right time to change your workout.

yeah, about 2 months will do it... and dont be shy with mixing it up... try new things, even every once in a while ill just do different things randomly... not just at 6-8 week intervals!
