Also, realize that if you're standing still, trying to block a person who's hitting you, you're in a really, really, really, really bad position. What's the best that can happen? You don't get hurt badly? Stay on your toes and keep moving.

The type wherein you almost clinch and throw short hooks and uppercuts?

Cause what happens to me Is my sparring partner/coach/trainer hits me with endless combos at first he goes to my body so i lower my guard then hits me in the head and when I protect my head he goes down again.

What do I do to stop him from doing this?
Just inflate those balls and keep rolling in/forward. We can tell you all of these great things to do when your in there but truthfully your gonna do next to none of them until you get comfortable with fighting on the inside. Main thing is just keep those elbows tight to your side and open your gloves around your head when your in there. The most important thiung that you actually have in there are your eyes. When your on the inside dont look at his head, you know its on top of his shoulders. Look at the chest and waist, you will see everything that you need to see. In time little subtle movements will tell you what hes throwing. It might be a turn of the waist, a lifting of the foot...... there are so many that will tell you whats coming. But it goes down fast so it has to become first instinct to get yourself protected or out of the way. And the only way to get that instinct is to just get in there and mix it up in close courters. It takes time but just keep your hands up and elbows tight.................Rockin'
