Hello every1, im a traveller (gypsy) from england uk.Ive done a bit of bare knuckle fighting in my time, but at 25 years old i want to see what i am made off in the ring instead of just scrapping overweight bums.

Ive joined a club and been going there for 2 months, i also train 6 times a week.I run 3 miles 4 times a week, do weights 2 times a week and go to boxing club 1 time a week.I know i should go to the boxing club more, but i cant coz i work nights when its on.My coach said its fine as long as im training when not at club ie condition myself and when i go club he will work on boxing skills.Ive got few questions at mo im doing high reps with low weight ie tonning and endurance, plenty of running.Im 6ft3 78kg so im tall but not skinny just slim.Any advice or any tips that could help is welcome.Im keen on trying to be as quick and speedy as i can with snap as im not a brawller as i like to use my brain and counter attack and take my time in a fight rarther then just go all leather if you get me.

Hi gerado, im just trying to be all muscle so yea ripped whilst trying to maintain size, increase fittness, stamina and power.I dont want to be to bulky coz wanna keep my long reach and quickness.Basicly i wanna be able to punch hard and quick until last bell.

You see a lot of tall guys who are skinny and weak well im tall but wanna keep some muscle on by doing weights so i can mix it aswell.Something like amir kahn really, i think hes in a great condition, as he has it all(apart from chin lol), but he has speed power fittness thats my aim.Cheers m8

Ive been doing the High reps and low weights for a few months now mainly with shoulder shrugs ab machine and pull ups 6 sets of 40 seems to be my magic number. but i try to do one action per second to improve speed for example on the assisted pull ups, Im 205lbs so i have it set for 110 pounds of assist so im doing pull ups as if i was 95 lb's (no set % of weight compared to body weight just what i can do 6 sets of 40 of), on the up motion is 1 second or less and so is the down motion with such little weight and the speed im moving it requires alot of control like i have to stop at the top and actually push my self down. A friend of mine has been doing 5 sets of 10 pull ups no assist 3 times a week and ive been doing my 6 sets of 40 3 times and week last week end we had a pullup contest no assist he did 18 i was able to do 33. Definitely going to keep up with high reps low weight but i think how fast you do them makes a difference too.

I forgot to mention that between each set i make sure i rest for 20 seconds and stretch out the muscle im working or else i would never be able to do 6 sets
