Ill definately be getting 16oz ... Just don't know which ones yet.
I'm probably gonna end up going with the V.I.P or RBK gloves just cause i know how they feel to wear.

Ask your trainer which gloves he'd recommend you use, especially if you're worried whether he'll let you spar with what you're getting or not.
That said, I think it's important to remember that sparring gloves should provide protection, not only for your hands but also for your opponent. First of all, your sparring partners are not your opponents, they're actually your partner hence the wordSecond, it goes both ways. I'm sure most people with a brain will prefer their sparring partner to wear properly padded gloves, so you don't risk getting cut everytime they land a punch on you. You want to avoid cuts at all costs, and good gloves are a key element in minimizing that risk.
I recommend Top Ten 16 oz. sparring gloves. Heck, even their 14 or 12 oz. would do better than 90% of the 16 oz. gloves I see out there (this includes the gloves posted in this thread).

TopTens really that good?
What are they like fit-wise?
Do they hold up well?
I remember joking that their competition head gear had the same consistancy as a truck tire.
As per the IMF gloves from Ringside, I've got the velcro ones and they're pretty much the best glove I've ever used.
I love the way Grants fit the best - but they don't have good cushioning, don't protect the knuckles or the partner.
Those IMF gloves REFUSE to break down. I've had my pair over a year, I use them all the time, and they feel & look like they've just been broken in. The padding is ample and the weight is balanced. I don't hurt my knuckles with those gloves and every sparring partner I've shown them to has agreed that the padding is generous (but not too squishy like Ringside Ultimate Classics).
