I thought it was good advice.

I only saw the Cintron fight for the first time this week, and there were similarities with the Lee-Vera fight. Cintron's extra power and experience, and the fact that Lee was against (what seems to be) a better opponent are the reasons we didn't see the same outcome in my opinion.

If Cintron had as much heart as he has talent he would make Margarito look like a novice. Sadly he will probably persist with Philly Shell in an effort to look cool and Margarito will punish him for it.

The peek-a-boo guard gives you that last chance to avoid getting hit. Once you learn to coordinate lateral head movement with an offensive strategy, you will become the guy everybody wants to avoid!

Philly Shell is a difficult style to employ and easy to beat. All Felliciano did was harass Cintron with and endless series of punches. If you have heavy hands then drill your firepower into his shoulder. After a few solid hits you will notice that his body language changes. However, the neaderthal approach isn't always necessary. Quite often all you need to do is need to do is feint the right then hit him with the left uppercut. Philly Shell virtually forces a man to hang his head on the right side leaving him wide open.

            Thank you.

How are you doing? Is your list of victims getting any longer? Have any promoters offered you a million dollar signing bonus? All you gotta do is get knockouts!

              My pleasure...

I am sorry I did not respond to your last email, I need to get to it. Things have been mighty hectic. As far the KO's I am more worried about not getting hit as of right now!

The problem comes when you have your hands low and DON'T slip, or zig when you should've zagged.
Fraidy cat knows some ****. I always find when slipping that my hands are down by my nutz. It just seems that Im able to get out of the way easier.

But for the green guys just coming in, keep your hands up and learn to roll before trying to slip. It will allow your eyes the time needed to pick up the shots as well as the confidence and timing to slip..............Rockin'

                    Getting hit?

In the real world of boxing it is difficult not to get hit. Nevertheless, you can do a lot reduce the probability of taking solid hits. If James Toney had the habit of keeping his guard up Sam Peter would have hit him less frequently. It is all about habit. Repeat something enough times then you will start doing it unconsciously. Whatever it is you are doing without thinking about it, those are your habits.

peekaboo for the win. but i do like to mix it up and rather than discourage me from doing it, my trainer has helped me develop a good low-left style that works for me. i like to use it along with the peekaboo style to give guys different looks.

all styles of defense have their advantages and disadvantages. it all depends on the fighter.
