I have heard 12 oz., and 10 oz. But I don't really know. Plus, If I'm going to get them, what kind should I go for? I was looking at the everlast competiton ones, with the white fingertips they say they are for amateur competition or should I just go with regular everlast fight gloves? Thanks alot, sorry for the long question

Not a problem on the questions. 12oz would be the norm, Wait until you get a trainer and sign up for your first fight and see what is required.

    also check out

That should have a listing of rules for their sanctioned competitions.

Should help a bit, For added power you have to make sure your technique is perfect and that your base (legs) is strong as well.

To knock your opponent out cold you need strong legs, as that and the lateral movement is where the power is possessed. To stay on your feet, you need strong legs.....Dont Ignore them

          • excercises

so do u recommend doing bodyweight excercises for legs or weightlifting for legs or both?this is for added strength/knockout power!do u use any resistance ropes when doin these excercies? because i have one and it seems like it helps, well its a little more intense with this.

Im going with bodyweight exercises, it is a personal preference but Freehand Squats will make you explosive and build up great strength.

Also make sure to do your roadwork as well.

Long hard fight for the time, I beat him by 2 points. I got a messed up elbow, which I had to go to the doctor and get a cortizone shot for, other than that, Everything went well.

How did you feel about it, did everything go to plan? Did you feel you were generally a better boxer?

I could have been better, the first round I was a bit weak in the knees, being that it actually counted this time. I didnt invite any family or friends so I could keep my focus and it helped, the guy I was boxing had his mom and sister their and they were screaming at him the whole time which broke his focus, he looked at them more than he did me, haha.

I had some perks in the fight and he had his, although I thought I was more mentally prepared. I knew in my head what I was going to do and executed it. For example, he ducked and tried to sneak an uppercut and I beat him to the punch and landed a hook to the head and kept telling myself ok, I see this and now do that type of deal.

I gained no bragging rights thats for sure, But I walked out with a lot more knowledge so that is a plus, I still have a whole lot to learn.
