No, Creatine is not illegal, I believe it is under the category of "Dietary Supplement". It is easy to buy, so it's allowed to own/use. Creatine has been said to provide the body with more energy, especialy if taken before endurance events. So to sum it up, it would be good for you to take before training, in balanced doses, it will help you out if you work your muscles to fatigue level. However, never take it directly before a fight, ever. (I would recommend not using it anytime within a week of the fight) And when taking it during training remember, balanced doses, and drink lots and lots of water, this stuff does lead to dehydration.

This all being said, Creatine will show up in your system on a drug test, but it depends on if the State Commission allows it. I haven't heard of a state that doesn't, so you should be fine, but you shouldn't be using it that close to fight time anyway, so it should be cool.

My opinion, don't use the stuff at all. I've known many people to use it while lifting weights, and personally I didn't see a change in muscle tone or anything. Creatine is a natural substance that all verterbates have in their body, the commercial stuff that you buy in stores is just a supplement to that. I would advise not using it at all, especialy while boxing.

Creatine is not illegal..... and will not appear in a normal drug test, and all state commissions approve of it. Creatine does not promote false positives.

*in the future you might want to look a little closer into what you put into your body*

Be very very careful taking creatine before boxing, you WILL cramp. I would reccomend taking in the morning and being sure to take the same amount everyday at the same time. Loading is not neccesary, and is just a ploy to make you need to buy a new container quiker.

Creatine is a solid supp that should be part of everyones nutritional regimen. you can supplement 5-15 grams a day non stop, there is no need to cycle.

THERE IS NO EVIDENCE FROM ANY RESEARCH SHOWING ANY ADVERSE EFFECTS FROM CREATINE. I challenge anyone to post one.

A recent Arkansas State University study headed by Mike Greenwood is finding results that creatine has no adverse side effects, is safe, and athletes using creatine are les slikely to have injuries (i.e. strains and pulls)

A UCONN study headed Jeff Volek found a "5% - 10% performance improvement"

You do not need to load, and your water sonsumption needs to be very high not to get cramps from dehydration.

I would check out creatine Ethyl Esther, it has a better absorbtion rate... otherwise just buy plain old creatine powder. Creatine is fine in the cheap form, dont spend $70 on a bucket of creatine.

try www.supplementdirect.com (no i dont have any affiliation with them) they were suppliers for muscletech for a long time. you can get your stuff cheap there and the quality is as high if not higher than muscletech and EAS

There haven't been any studies that have found Creatine to be dangerous. True. But, Creatine has not been popular enough for a long enough time for anybody to do conclusive LONG TERM EFFECTS studies. So be careful. I actually stumbled across what seems to be a pretty good unbiased website http://www.creatinemonohydrate.net/. Check it out.

As far as I can see, there doesn't seem to be any risk with going on a Creatine cycle for a couple of months. If you use it for years, then there might be a lot of risk. Anyways, check out that link.

Of course, the thread was actually just asking if it would be trouble in drug tests, and the answer is no assuming it isn't really cheap creatine that may have some unexpected stuff in it.

When weight training, many people take it because it extracts liquid from other parts of your body to help with muscle recovery where needed, that's why it leads to dehyrdation.
