  • what causes muscle definition

Is it a combination of both amount of muscle and low body fat? Because I have a low amount of body fat. But, when my arms are straight they don't look muscular at all unless my arms are up in a boxing stance or I flex. Is it because I don't have enough muscle? What exactly cause muscle definition.

Another thing is why do a lot of basket ball players have crazy muscle definition compared to every other sport. Such as boxing, football, etc.

uhh,...... football players have more muscle definition than basketball players buddy, well the cut ones do anyway. thats becayse they lift weights and do cardio. boxers have VERY defined muscle, more so than almost any other sport i would say. looking cut is about having low body fat and muscle. reason y boxers muscles dont always look huge is because alot dont lift weights. u can tell USUALLY (not always) what fighters lift weights and what fighters dont...

Because they got long arms, long arms -- more space for definition.

I look pretty defined (for a whitey), but I'm weak as piss, so unless its for vanities sake I'm not sure why you're bothered. Look at Baldomir for christs sake!

I guess white people are natural more flabby than other ethnicities.

Either way, the best way to get definition and stay quick, while holding off of bulk is to do excercises with your own body weight. This includes push-ups, squat jumps, crunches, and all variations of all these different techniques.

Definition also comes into play when you eat right.

I would not say that especially since "white people" is not ****geneous(sp?).

There are some ethnicities of "white people" or better yet caucasians that are genetically predisposed to being ripped better and some are worse.

Tell that to James Toney. Or George Foreman. Plenty of fat black dudes walking around.

if u want to get cut you have to do a combination of lifting and cardio. Try to keep it on a 60/40 percent. Meaning you lift 60 percent and do cardio other 40 percent of the time. If you do 1 of the two more then its going to show. For example if u flip it and you lift 40 percent of the time and do cardio 60%...you'll be cut but won't look proportionate. Anyway im not gona get in too deep about it...good luck

Yeah you can have a very low bodyfat percentage, but if you don't lift or do any sort of resistance exercise, then you're going to have a soft and skinny look. The key to getting "cut" is FIRST AND FOREMOST, cleaning up that diet. When you add in weight training and cardio, if you want, then you will become increasingly more cut, depending on how dedicated you are and how hard you work.
