I know they arent boxers. It just goes to show how much in baby shoes this mma is. there are alot of boxing skills, that could be very very valuable in the octagon. they are supposed to be 2 of the top fighters, not the very top but close enough.

I wouldnt really say boxers have a head start but its a awsome tool for mma, not the only one you can use in a mma fight but a good one. Melvin Guillard, known for his standup and explosovness got beat all my submission and most of them in the 1st round. Boxing is all the kid has and has got all his losses were by submission. There are high #s of boxers that get beat in mixed martial arts that u have no idea about.

btw just because someone is undefeated doesnt mean they are great, its the quality of opposition, not how many victories, like i said if they were any good they would be boxing right now, and no mma is not surpassing boxing, it has a small fanbase and a few casual observers who like it because they want to see a streetfight, you will never see millions of people all over the world forking out hard earned money to see a ufc match, and you will never see 30,000 people pack out a stadium on a freezing winters night like just hapened 18 months ago in australia to see two mma fighters, boxing is an artform and everyone still recognises it as the best fighting sport in the world and dumbasses who like to see streetfights wont change that, very soon you will see mma kill itself from the inside as it faces money and greed problems that boxing has endured and overcome for years

awsum im 0-1 im 13 fought in march last year but lost but ive kept training ready to fight again in in march this year n from then on ill be fighting as much as i can gettin experienced

SHERK WOULD DESTROY MAYWEATHER IN THE OCTAGON!!! wouldnt even be close. Sherk is a great wresler and he WOULD take mayweather down as soon as the bell rang. wouldnt even be close. He would be an idiot to even think of using those 13 years of boxing in the rig with mayweather. If sherk has been boxing for 13 years it sure doesnt show. But in the UFC mayweather wouldnt beat anybody. just like no UFC fighter can touch mayweather in the ring. I love boxing but boxers are just plain crazy to assume that they could stay on there feet long enough to even use there hands. I hate sean sherk too. B.J. Penn would be a much better fighter for mayweather.

MMA has just been put on t.v. not too long ago bud, boxing has been around since cavemen found out how to **** and the #s for UFC is growing rapidly. The Champion vs Champion card passed wrestling #s and even boxing.

boxing has been around since then and was featured in the early greek olympics but from there until the 1800's in england it was not really practiced and promoted all that much, boxing is too ingrained in society for mma to push it out sorry and uhh its a boxing forum jackass learn to read i think you should go away
