the ones saying that ufc is nothing but street fighters just dont know. When is the last time you watched ufc? YES long ago at ufc 1 they just had bunch of guys that knew nothing and wanted to fight...nowadays its different, they have weight classes, pro trainers, talented fighters, not to mention BETTER FIGHT CARDS, watch UFC 71 and you'll see what im talkin about.
You could argue that the fighters in the first UFC were more "skilled" actually but not more "effective" fighters. I define a skilled fighter as someone who is good at what they claim to fight with.

I personally think that Sean Sherk would own Maywether in a cage match. Why should Maywether have a strong take-down defense? I don't see how. Also, good MMA fighters are quick enough to shoot for a takedown before the opponent has time to throw a single punch.

I agree that boxers are better at boxing, tough, and would knock up most MMA fighters easily in a boxing ring.

Anyone who think MMA is filled with talentless non-athletes need to watch this video of Anderson Silva :

I just watched that sean sherk movie, it looks like he is just doing a rubgy tackle, that is nothing special. Get him to try take down a willie mason from the NRL or Rodzilla from the Aussie rugby team. You would have to get a punch on him as he lunged in, especially floyd. Also using butterbean is pointless he's just a fat bastard who is hardly a boxer. Floyd would be able to move. If he's ever done NFL he'd know how to take a hit.

But yeah it would never happen, each sport has it's view's, but personally it hurts enough getting hit with 16 oz, let alone 4 oz. To me it just look's like a glorified street fight with elite athlete's who know how to fight like that. Are there any rules in mma?

your comparing butterbean to floyd? are you serious butterbean shouldnt be compared to any boxer. Don't use a old faded, looking for a paycheque ray mercer either.

yes there are rules in mma. No punches to back of of the head, no Knees to downed opponent, cant grab the cage, no eye gouging, no low blows etc. There are more but if any of these were to happen, a point would be taken away or if a knee to a downed opponent knocks the guy out, the other fighter would be DQ'd. Its not the old UFC it was before when there was no rules, it is now a more professional sport. And it dont matter who I compare Floyd to, the point is that he would lose in a mma match. You cant be 1 dimensional and expect to win fights.

i dont think u actually realise how hard boxers hit or how fast, even a guy like floyd who by boxing standards doesnt hit all that hard would still ko a ufc fighter with 10 oz gloves on, and 4 oz fingerless gloves like they wear in mma? they'd drop like a bag of **** even if they were gettin hit by frickin paulie malinaggi, from what ive seen of ufc (a few bouts) they cant defend that well and as they would be coming in to takedown a boxer like floyd they would get tagged by a punch and go down, thats if they could even lay a hand anywhere near him

                    • yea floyds a great puncher blah blah blah he doesnt know how to defend against take downs and this ****** "you will never gets close to him" act is ******ed because he relies on the clinch in the majority of his fights, lets see him clinch sherk? he's a phoenomenal boxer but he's overstepped here because hes out of his league in an octagon in his present state
