I much prefer the double-bag. About that, do you guys really focus on keeping your hands up when you do it? This like "half-traininer" got on my case today at the gym about it, not having my hands at my cheeks the whole time. I mean sometimes I go down and dodge the ball, don't you guys do that? Apparently you just cover to the left or right or some ****, and let it hit your glove... I donno if I can trust this guy, he also said, to never ever throw a 1-2, you'll get hit... I've thrown a many and seem to be fine. Honestly, I find his crosses to be ridiculous. Also, I apparently do not rotate my hip enough when I throw a cross. Now that one is kinda true, but I concentrate on firing it out fast and "sharp" than getting a lot of power on it. I'm not a big guy, nor really strong, so I go with speed. Anyone else do this, or his he actually right. Because that would kill me. ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh sorry, just got back from the gym, and I don't like being told what to do by a balding 40 year old potbelly who seems to talk a lot of ridiculous ****.

    Ok, I'm done now, haha,

Does anyone know what the name of that music in Tom Spiros speedbag video is called. I have been trying to find out for MONTHS with no luck. If someone could tell me I would greatly appreciate it.

      Thanks

Everything I do at the gym, from footwork drills to the double-end bag to sit-ups to ringropes, I do with my guard up. I've been doing this since day one, and now -- a year later -- my guard is never -- NEVER -- down when I'm in the ring. It feels weird to have my hands down. Your mileage may vary -- everybody has their own thing. I'm a short, broad-shouldered Light Heavy, and I can't do that hands-down, superfast distance-guard thing that the lighter weights (and younger guys) get away with.

Correct, if you wanna end up with face that resembles your original one, you better do eveyrthing with your guard up.

ahhhh, ya I suppose you're right. I really do have a bad habit of dropping my hands at bad times anyways, so it's something that's been on my mind lately. It's just that the bag on our double bag is kinda low, so when I stand "proper" with my hands up, it feels like I'm punching a midget in the balls. Just hard to get used to.

Always gotta try to keep those hands up,

I think it helps my hand speed and also forces me to throw straighter punches. but then again thats just me.
