Vertical fist? Horizontal fist?? Does it really matter?? Is one safer than the other??
Thanks in advance.
Vertical is better for short compact hooks, it makes it much more powerful and compact.
Horizontal is good for longe range hooks, it makes it more accurate and adds more power compared to the vertical position.

Really? I've been doin' it the opposite way my whole life... Although I've never really experimented...
Yep, vertical for short hooks, horizontal for longer hooks (maybe). Check out Marciano, Frazier, Shavers, Chavez, Duran, Cuevas....all great hookers, and no 2 alike. You have to do what works for your particular body. I like to hook with the second knuckles, which I have developed to be almost as strong as the first knuckles. More distance and smaller area of impact.....
yeah i will. ive only seen 1 person do it EVER! and i think it was by accident.its a k.o punch that can split the guard and u can put full leverage on it. damn to much info for u

I'm too old to ever fight you, kid. More's the pity. PM me.
versatile, I throw a lot of short (if by short, you mean distance wise to your opponent) hooks, all with my fish down. Just the way I've always done it. I sometimes feel more power with a vertical hook, but for some reason it doesn't feel as right... or as fast. Do you guys think I should work on getting that vertical hook down?
