  • who would be the best fighter to watch??

just wondering in your opinion, who would be the best fighter to watch for a beginner who needs tips on developing a style, throwing combinations and general footwork. Someone who's easy to learn off of basically...

Personal Opinion - De La Hoya. He's a good all-around boxer. He's not the best at slipping, or moving, or anything, really, but he can put fundamentals together like no other. As much as I hate to say it, Floyd has good technique as well. Either one of those guys are good to watch.

I would recommend, if you're just beginning, to find a fighter who has a similar build and size to you -- or who has a build you realistically think you would have after a few years of boxing -- and who, ideally, uses the same dominant hand and stance, and most importantly, a fighter whose style you like. Me, I like Shavers and Dempsey. No one else seems to, but that's OK with me: this way, I know that not so many people will be copying out of the same playbook as me.

I really like watching joe frazier fight, do you think a style like his would work in the amateurs, since he swarms his opponents often??? I haven't seen his amateur fights so I wouldn't know lol. Plus I'm a southpaw but I feel my right hook is much more quicker and stronger then my left, so if I were to use his style it might be a bit complicated even though I'm pretty sure I could pull it off with practise. What's your opinion?

Joes style worked pretty good in the amateurs considering he won a gold medal.

yeh its great for the amatuers if you are trying to knockout your opponent you wont do so well if you are aimig to win by points because power of the punch adn aggression do not matter the average amatuer will hit you with a tonne of weak shots racking up loads of points
