    Mr. Soprano:

The bottom line with me is that Briggs has always fallen short and only his connections are hyping him. He choked against the unspectacular Darrol Wilson, he ran from a 47 year-old George Foreman and, in my view, received an unjust decision. He showed courage against Lennox Lewis; but was ultimately outclassed. And he's lost to a 9-9 fighter named Sedrick Fields and was thoroughly outpointed by the unspectacular Jameel McCline. Since his last loss to McCline, he's built up a stream of knock-outs over nobodies and a waaaay past his prime Ray Mercer.

The only reason Briggs has even been brought back into the center of the heavyweight mix is that there is nobody else. All of the American fighters are completely off the radar and the American public is starving for a savior. Who better than this intelligent, flashy, powerful former neighbor of Mike Tyson and Rid**** Bowe? Is he receiving this title shot because of any impressive win? No. He's receiving it because he is at the center of a hype machine. He is not and never has been "the real thing" and I'm personally fed-up to the gills with all the hoopla over this underachiever who's sole claim to fame is a robbery over an old man and the rocking of a man who thoroughly kicked his ass a couple of rounds later.

Now, if Briggs wins, I will be the most surprised man on the planet, bar none. That's why the 9000. If I lose it, fine. It'll be worth it if Shannon lives up to even the slightest bit of the potential he once had; but the way I look at it, I'm just insured I'm going to have 13000 points come Sunday morning.

I believe in putting my money where my mouth is, so to speak.

Briggs is pretty much shot. He's gonna' come out gunnin', which will be interesting for a few rounds and that's it. Then it's business as usual, you know, a guy with stamina and decent skills simply pickin' his shots until the "cannon" can't fire back.

I like that "The first line of offense".I like both fighters but will be pulling for Briggs. It is a very tough fight to call but I think Briggs has the Power to slow Liakhovich.
