I hope Margarito does fight Williams soon after Clottey which I bet he will, but regardless, he's gonna beat him and get no credit.
Clottey fought baldomir in 1999 lol why in the world are you going to bring that up the fight 7 years ago? lol and by the way i watch that fight and baldo cameback strong in the late rounds and it look like he was going to stop clottey before clottey did the golata and took a cheap way out.

I have no idea what you're talking about. Never heard anyone say he was ducking Clottey. I think you're being over sensative.

The bottom line is simple: Margarito needs big fights to add to his resume.

Williams has huge hype at the moment, and is one of the better fights available at Welterweight.

Add that he's been his MANDATORY for a year.

Add that he's been calling him out for six months.

There's no reason he should have looked to fight Clottey (#5) when his mandatory challenge was a better fight in every way in Paul Williams (#1)

    I like Margarito.

But he's guilty of what he was just accusing Floyd of.

He avoided Paul Williams for his December date. Period.

The fact is, regardless of what Margarito does, he's not gonna get any credit. Margarito is gonna destroy Clottey and get no credit for it(Clottey was easily beating Baldomir till he lost by a questionable dq).....and about Rivera and Quintana, those two wanted nothing with Margarito...and why bring up smith?....if anything he's gonna get clowned on for fighting and beating a guy who wasn't good enough to win the contender.
I'm going to make it short and sweet so you can freaking understand. Who is the mandatory challenger? clottey or williams?. Who is ahead of the top ten ww? who is undefeated? who got more ko's? who got more wins? who got more impressive win? clottey or williams? i rest my case.

    Makes no sense.

All Margarito can do now for himself is to take the best fights possible and build up his resume.

    Williams > Clottey.

    It's just that simple.

Williams just came off back to back HBO cards where he looked very impressive.

A win over Williams trumps a win over Clottey.

And when Cintron is the biggest name on his resume, Margarito can use all the good wins he can get.

I would guess that it would.

It would most likely be a Top Rank/ Goossen Tutor promotion carried by HBO.

He should have embraced the challenge and made a big specticle of fighting Williams in December.

Clottey is a good prospect, but Williams is the better looking and more accomplished fighter of the two by far. He's #1 in the WBO, Clottey's #5.

    B) One of Williams' downside is that he takes too many punches, but he's aware of this and says he does so to land more. He averages 100 punches thrown per round, and he shook off huge shots from Mattheysse like they were nothing and kept firing. If he takea a few to land 10, I think he's doing okay.
