It seemed like it was taking forever for Antonio Tarver to get an opponent lined up for his post Roy Jones career. I was starting to think this guy will never fight someone other then Roy Jones. We finally get our wish to see Tarver back in the ring. At the recent WBC convention, Don King won with a purse bid of $2.7 million for the rights to the fight between Australian Paul Briggs and WBC light heavyweight champion Antonio Tarver.
The fight must be held within the next 90 days or Tarver will be stripped of his title. The rumored date is December 18th, 2004. Antonio has already stated that he looks forward to meeting Paul Briggs and thinks the fight will have good action. Both men will get 7 figure paydays from the future metting.
