  • Comments Thread For: Haney: Pacquiao Fight Doesn't Make Sense For Ryan Garcia, Not Very Winnable

Devin Haney obviously wants Ryan Garcia to fight him, not Manny Pacquiao. That isn't the only reason that Haney thinks Pacquiao-Garcia is a bad idea. Apart from potentially taking away one of his most prominent opponents, Haney doesn't think Garcia can beat even this 42-year-old version of Pacquiao.

It's maybe a 50/50 fight @ 140, but it becomes a 70/30 fight (Pacquiao) @ 147! The worse part is, like Haney said, trying to go back to 135! Lastly, your legacy is hurt if you lose to a 42-yr. old man who has been out the ring for nearly 2 years!

Now if you fight Pacquiao @ 140, you can stay @ 140, and target Teofimo Lopez, Jose Ramirez, or Josh Taylor! That's a win-win!

Funny how these young bucks are dancing circles around each other, while making sure not to mention Loma's name. At least when Loma was on the top we had his fights to look forward to...

I usually agree with that, but not this time! When Floyd fought Oscar, he was able to return to his natural weight, and dominate! When Manny fought Oscar, he stayed at 147, and dominated! When Canelo fought Mayweather, he was able to return to his natural weight, and dominate! Ryan might never be the same if he bulks up to 147 now, and he's not ready for Boots & Vergil @ 147, AND he might never be the same @ 135! Are they going to pay him that much more than he would make fighting Tank @ 135? I don't see enough dollars for this to make sense!

We had Teofimo Lopez fights to look forward to also! He was much more fun to watch, destroying people on the regular! Nakatani, Commey, and Lomachenko himself! That's better than Pedraza, Crolla, and Campbell! Let the "Young Bucks" do their thing! No one worried about 14-2 Lomachenko right now!
