Comments Thread For: Callum Smith on Canelo: I Don't Think Anyone Beats Him, Maybe if He Keeps Moving Up

Callum Smith has had some time to reflect on last month's dominating decision loss at the hands of Mexican superstar Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez. Before a crowd in Texas, Smith was picked apart as the twelve round contest played out - with Canelo walking away with the WBC, WBA super middleweight titles.

Dayummzzz. Telling y’all. You don’t want to get on Canelo’s dark side and use the high guard. If he lands a Hail Mary on Bivol’s thin belly it’s over! We needs War Of Tanks Beterbiev fight!

Good on Callum to tell it like it is and not be a sore loser. Lots of other fighters would have just gone with the “it just wasn’t my night” load of crap.

That’s the common theme with most of canelos opponents he is “hard to hit clean”

On top of his power and strength and chin that is why canelo is so difficult to beat.

Props to Smith for telling it like it is.

I didn't think Smith would win but expected him to have more success

Same thing with Fury that's why Clinchko looked like a C level fighter in their fight.

This guy Smith, his ego is well inflated. Dog, you beat an old Groves for literally the last fight of his career and wasn't Groves like riddled with injuries? That is like the literal height of Smith's career. Another big mouth eurobum fighting domestic cans in his backyard. If Canelo quits cherry picking, he loses. Plenty of fighters beat Canelo.

Lol, you can always spot another tiring Canelo hater from the language they use. Terms to define their opponent such as their opposition facing “eurobums” or the fighter themselves as “cherry picker.”

In addition any person sitting within the confines of their safe little basement, mashing away at their keyboard that would call any boxer a “bum” isn’t a boxing fan. The correct term for that individual would be a star struck, starry eyed fame chasing, hero worshipper.

It literally eats at you that Canelo is already an ATG and 1st ballot HOF. Strap em up and test yourself if you feel boxers are “bums.” Go on, face em.

Canelo does a few subtle things that students of the sweet science notice. His defence is underrated, his tactical strategies are outstanding, after the Mayweather fight anyway.

He used a Marciano strategy against Callum and hit him anywhere, especially on the left bicep.

I think stylistically, Bivol, not Beterbiev, would be the most difficult opponent for Canelo, if they ever fought, at light heavy or super middleweight.

Bivol has a combination of power and skill that the likes of Plant, Charlo and Andrade don't have, although yes that's up for debate.
