The first major fight of 2021 for Queensberry Promotions is one where the company is hardly guaranteed to leave with a world champion under its banner. Jamel Herring will cross the Atlantic to defend his junior lightweight title versus former two-division champ Carl Frampton atop a BT Sport-aired event taking place Feb. 27 at a location to be determined in London. The oft-postponed title clash will mark the first ring appearance for both fighters since separate showcase fights last summer.

What's the bookies odds on this fight? I don't think they see it as 50/50? I think herring is favourite.

I think most outside of the UK would favour Herring?

I think the size difference and Framptons age me be the factors!

If this was a pre Warrington Frampton I would favour him but not now

Even pre-Warrington the size difference with Herring at 130 would have been a big task for frampton at that point.

Valdez is facing the same difficulties with berchelt imo.

Actually Valdez-Frampton would have probably been a more even fight?!

          True!

But for some reason him and his team have been going after this fight religiously

Think he wants desperately to be a 3 weight champ

Hope he does it but not so sure, wouldn’t risk any money on him

Herring is 35 yrs old and frampton is 33. Yeah theres a significant size difference but herrings last opponent, johnathan oquendo is listed at 5 feet 4 inches and he gave herring fits. I think he couldve stopped herring but i believe there was a cut caused by a headbutt and herring said he couldnt continue. They ended up DQ’ing oquendo. Anyway, dont count Frampton out. And im from the US but not too confident in Herring.

True but it’s years on the clock. With Herrings career before boxing despite being older he’s a young 35 and Frampton is an old 33.

Frampton has been round the block and is past his peak where as I think Herring is ok the up
