UNCASVILLE, Connecticut Pedro Marquez felt fine Tuesday afternoon, when he made weight for his fight against Martino Jules. BoxingScene.com has learned Marquez fell ill Wednesday morning, however, went to a local hospital and was advised to withdraw from their eight-round featherweight fight. The 23-year-old Jules (10-0, 2 KOs), a southpaw from Allentown, Pennsylvania, and the 26-year-old Marquez (12-1, 8 KOs) a San Juan, Puerto Rico, native who has won 11 straight fights were supposed to open a "ShoBox: The New Generation" tripleheader Wednesday night from Mohegan Sun Arena.

The show will proceed as a doubleheader.

Sign of the times right now. I have taken to not even making up my fight cards till late in the day on the day OF the fight. Lot of reasons for all of the changes not just with Showbox but accross the board. Some guys loose out other get a chance to show on a card they might never have had a chance. So boxing 2021 is as it was.

there were 4 fights scheduled, Patrick Cora Vs Hurshidbek Normatov was supposed to be the main event initially, but normatov withdrew because of medical reasons.

This Shobox card has been ruined by the two cancellations. The first cancellation was the main event, now on the morning of the event another fighter pulls out sick. From this day forward they need to have substitute boxers who can fill in for injured, or sick fighters. That is the best way to salvage boxing events, so that the show doesn't fall completely apart. Otherwise boxing fans are just going to lose interest in cards that have canceled bouts.
