Comments Thread For: Former NBA Star Lamar Odom Signs Celebrity Boxing Deal, Set To Fight June 12

Lamar Odom has survived tremendous amounts of adversity in his life, and he's all too familiar with putting up a fight. The former Los Angeles Lakers star and two-time NBA champion will now be bringing that fighting attitude inside a boxing ring. Odom announced that he's signed a deal with Celebrity Boxing Entertainment and will be engaging in a boxing match June 12 at the Showboat Casino in Atlantic City.

Yea seems like a great idea to let the guy who nearly OD'd on **** pills & the bisexual suicidal singer to engage in a sport where they get hit in the head.

Old guys who've boxed & sane young &/or athletic cats is one thing. Crazy mfers WITHOUT boxing experience + all sorts of wonky life sh^t going on seems a bad idea.

Fook it doe. Imma watch. I've watched old ladies fighting over coupons in the grocery store parking lot.

I recall 'Too Tall Jones," and his professional career. Odom should reflect on how "Too Tall" fared before pursuing a boxing career.

6 strokes and 12 heart attacks? Couldn't even hack it in 3-on-3 basketball?

Yeah, boxing seems like a great idea Lamar.

"Odom has battled through years of substance abuse and survived a near-death experience due to a drug overdose at a Nevada brothel in 2015. Odom said he had six strokes and 12 heart attacks while he was in a coma.

“I have horrible memory loss,” Odom told People in a May 2019 interview. "And my long-term memory was affected as well. Athletically, my balance is poo. I was shocked how weak my body became."

            Gonna be a great fight!

Yeah this isn't a good look for boxing as a sport. Wearing a body protector as a coach and getting hit hard to the chest/heart area f.cken hurts and stops you in your tracks. For a guy thats had 12 heart attacks, 1 clean punch to the chest could flat line him.

Too Tall was attempting a real boxing career. I assume Lamar Odom will be fighting some guy from the music group Color Me Bad.
