As a fan I know I’d love to see the fights I would be harder pressed to make as a manager.

        Nice article cliff

It's an observation that whilst these Wunderkinder matchups may appear to be a risk to promoters in the short term - if their guy loses - the benefit to the sport itself and it's long term prospects mean that they may be best served making 'em happen anyway win or lose. Long run they gonna get a slice of a bigger pie. If boxing is ever gonna grow back from being a niche sport in the US it's gonna be because promoters move away from the protectionist model and start putting on the fights that'll really get the public attention.

And yeah, whilst as an older dude it's real hard for me to take all the metrosexual social media silliness seriously, I also think that's what's needed if boxing is going reach and take off with a newer generation... ain't never gonna be for me but all the younger fighters probably need to be making themselves heard on those platforms or have someone to do it for 'em.

Too much value placed on "undefeated".

U can take Davis off that list...will continue to cherry-pick old past it pillow-fisted smaller over-matched Hispanic fighters in more ppv main event mismatches. Floyd/Pbc/Davis too scared to risk that 0! Next up - probably blind in one eye Lsc clone A.Mares, who was Davis initial choice pre-injury before Lsc. Sad but true.

Promoters don't care about the good of the sport, sadly.

They are only out for themselves. Very shortsighted in their thinking.
