Am I the only one here who thinks GGG could beat Canelo in a 3rd fight?

Canelo cut into GGG's output advantage from fights 1 to 2; you have to think if they fought again, Canelo would further eat into that margin. It was still about a 30+ punch advantage for GGG in fight 2 however, so I could see GGG still winning that battle.
On a damage basis, punch for punch, I think it's still probably about even, but I could see the argument that Canelo's do slightly more damage on a punch for punch basis.
I could definitely see the two of them having a competitive fight in that scenario - Canelo eats into the punch landed advantage, and continues to land sharp shots throughout the rounds.
I don't think the first 2 fights were THAT close however, so if Canelo improves again in the 3rd fight, then I could still see a GGG win or it being very even, on my card anyway.
Canelo's stamina/work rate seemed better to me vs Smith. GGG seemed a bit fatigued at the end of one of those rounds vs Kamil to me, but he still landed more shots in 7 rounds than Canelo landed in 12 vs Smith. Yes, levels, we all know that. However it still tells a story about the workrate of each guy.
If GGG outworks Canelo again in fight 3, then Canelo winning will depend on if he can hurt GGG, which is definitely a possibility at this time.
I think fight 3 would be a pick 'em fight going in. I felt that way about fight 2 really, and it was very similar to the first. But I feel like fight 2 was a bit of a turning point for both - Canelo found his balls, and GGG finally found a guy who would stand up to him and stand in the middle of the ring with him.
Canelo got outworked again and GGG sealed the win down the stretch, but we saw a different Canelo in that fight, and for the first time we saw a GGG who had someone stand in front of him and fight.
Since those fights, GGG has just looked 'OK' overall. Canelo has looked better than that. However if GGG maintains a solid output advantage, then he is definitely in it with a chance to win. Motivation may come into play in this fight as well, which should probably favor GGG. He should have a bit more to prove now than Canelo.Last edited by Boxing-1013; 01-12-2021, 01:02 PM.Comment

- -U have authorization to speak from his jock strap?IMO GGG had figured out Canelo by the end of their 2nd fight. He badly hurt Canelo in Rd10, and dominated him in Rd11 and 12.
In that fight GGG was surprised by Canelo coming forward on him, and it took him too long to adjust because he never prepared for it. He gave up too many early rounds.
Now, he’s seen everything Canelo can do.
Don’t be surprised if Old G badly hurts the Ginger in a 3rd fight, like Marquez did to Pac.Comment

He isn't going to win. He has slowed down and even if Canelo doesn't improve, it's enough to beat Golovkin at this stage if his career. To top it off he has to fight the Vegas tendency to go with the money guy. Can't see him winning this.Comment

Doubt it but I don't think Canelo would be Andrade or Charlo. Which is why he has been running from those 2 for 8 years now.Comment
