  • Comments Thread For: Coldwell: Wilder's Statements Are Concerning, The Wounds Have Clearly Not Healed

Dave Coldwell, veteran trainer and manager, is concerned with the mental state of former WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder. Back in February, Wilder was dropped and stopped by Tyson Fury in seven rounds. It was Wilder's first career defeat and he lost the world title that was captured in 2015.

Wilder had someone to put his arm around him after the loss, but he chose to fire him instead.

"That tells me he hasn't gone away and tried to improve as a fighter. He's not learned from the experience and for that reason I don't believe the outcome could change."
Definition of insanity repeating the same thing over and over and expecting different results ... Einstein.

Something wasn't right the 2nd fight for sure.
Fury has never historically been a hard puncher but the 2nd fight all of a sudden he became a killer like EARNIE SHAVERS,GEORGE FOREMAN,TYSON or TOMMY HEARNS. Those are men who hit hard enough to leave dents in your head the size of a gulf ball. It looked like Fury hit him with bare knuckles and it shows barely any padding in his right glove. Fury also has a lot of flap space in front of his left glove which doesn't happen to NEW gloves before a fight. I know Fury is a pretty good boxer but crushing puncher he's not!

Not only are the wilderettes talking about dents and autopsies, the hamonites are hush about the $120 million dollar deal that went down the drain with Anthony Joshua.....no wonder the wilderettes/hamonites are clutching their pearls

Wilder needs to enforce the Fury 3 rematch clause or he’s finished

Coldwell got it spot on. Wilder hasn't recovered from the mental damage and going straight into the third fight and losing will cause identity disorder for him. Just to ask, does Wilder has a psychologist in his team?

The difference was how he fought, usually on the back foot, potshotting to win on points

This time he walked him down and took it too him, that’s why it went down differently, not because of any conspiracy theory about tampered gloves

Why are we talking about Wilder in December? He has no fight coming up and has made no noteworthy statement in recent months.
