Two-time Olympic gold medal winner Claressa Shields is very motivated as the year comes to a close. In 2021, Shields intends to make her mixed martial arts debut. A few weeks ago, Shields shocked the sport of boxing when she confirmed her decision to sign a promotional agreement with MMA company PFL.

Can’t blame her she’s too inactive. There are only 55 active boxers in the World in her weight division she’ll make more money in MMA

Could literally have a bum of the month club fighting every single woman in the division and not risk an L. I wouldn’t be surprised if Shields was the only full time boxer in and around her division.

Good idea for her because she has the time and money to invest in her training. However if she never kicked or grappled in her life, she's gonna take a long time to get accustomed to it. Grappling is a bish because your whole body is under tension all the time and very explosive in the take downs. Kicking makes your ass and hamstrings feel like jelly especially multiple rounds on the bag/pads

I'll be rooting for her and also will tune in, but I doubt she'll defeat a real threat, but we will definitely find out

Women's boxing is super dead n boring

This is a good move by Shields. She’s too inactive in boxing anyway and there are no threats to her. She pretty much cleaned out the divisions.

Shields is quite athletic and strong, so with the right training and learning curve, she should be very competitive. Will she become a champion; who knows. I only wish that she had knock out power in her fists.
