Comments Thread For: Ryder Believes Smith Will Use Their Fight For Key Adjustments Against Canelo

You would only think so. I can't see anyone with half a brain not making adjustments after having such a controversial win. It's why I think Mundo will do alright against Canelo.

So true,I'll never know why he doesn't use hes reach, ala Klitschko. He can hit you from the other side of the ring, has the power to keep you honest, strong enough physically to tie you up.Bad tactical brain is hes only weakness.

Gallagher is over-rated as a top level trainer.

His jab just doesnt seem that hard. Even in the Groves fights just seeing how they landed them.

Groves was close to done before that fight but he has a good, heavy jab. Smith's was nothing of the sort. He got Groves with left hooks and fast right hands. But when they did trade jabs the difference in quality was huge.

I cant help but thing Groves beats that guy at any other point in his career.

And then like Ryder says. Ryder as a supposedly inferior fighter is pointing flaws in Smith that he could see and exploit in real time.

Ryder is probably a better fighter than Smith too.

Smith is underestimated. Maybe his jab is not his strong point but he has a great counter left hook and a strong, precise right hand. He gets a lot of leverage out of his lanky frame. I believe canelo beats him, but it won't be easy

I think Groves is very hard to hit with a jab, that Adam Booth style where they have their head off centre, trickier than it looks.Maybe Groves was done ,but he was coming off a decent performance in Eubank.Smith really should've handled Ryder from range,he wanted a knockout, he played into Ryders strengths.I dont believe hes got the talent of Smith .No version of Smith gets stopped by Blackwell, although I agree Ryder deserved the win that night. I dont think Smith beats Canelo, but he can make it rough.A complete shot Kovalev kept Canelo at range for 10 rounds .He had no stamina left and no chin.

Canelo is not Ryder. There are levels to it. Hopefully Smith had made his adjustments and shows up ready come Saturday night.
