  • Comments Thread For: Crawford on Spence Fight: If It Ain't 60/40 In My Favor Fight Won't Happen

Terence Crawford wants to fight Errol Spence Jr. He just wants to get paid his fair share more. The welterweight titleholder from Nebraska expressed his dismay with Spence, who recently stated that he believed he deserves a larger portion of the promotional purse, 60/40, in a potential fight. Spence, citing his pay-per-view numbers and the attendance he drew in his fights, believes he has the greater commercial profile, thus he deserves a bigger piece of the pie.

This is what he should say. I may not agree but I also don't agree with him accepting 40% before negotiations begin. If he agreed that he deserves 40% before negotiations began they could get him to agree to less during negotiations.

That's fine - as long as in his head he accepts 40%, because that's all he's earned based on his 147. They're not going give him A-Side money and they're not going to give him even split unless Arum comes out of pocket - which he already said he's not doing.

I hate these kind of excuses. Simple solution 40-40 - The winner gets remaining 20. Stops the excuses.

No it doesn't, because then come fight night you'll end up with a controversial draw.

Dare to be great, skip Spence and go for a 4th title vs Charlo. Huge build up, crazy money, legacy enhancing fight...might lose but Crawford is 33. Got 2 years of prime left, so ditch Arum, promote yourself and take it strong to the hoop!

Problem is there's no next best opponent in Top Rank's stable. Go to Al Haymon and all these fights are gonna happen.

Don't like this attitude from Crawford Spence is the unified champion at 147 where you fight now Bud nobody cares about what you did at 135 and 140 when it comes to negotiations this is welterweight and Spence already has a better resume at 147 than Crawford who just recently fought Spences leftovers this fight should be 55-45 in Spence's favor Crawford is going to use this as a reason for the fight not happening.

What would be the point if he won't agree to take less of a split. He wants the Pac fight but will agree with Pac getting 20 mil while he gets half?

Spence has more belts and more numbers.
