I think Bud is an excellent fighter but his resume is average at best. He is likely going to have to move up in weight unless he can get a fight with Spence.

im fed up of him lining up no hoper after no hoper, these guys hes been fighting at welterweight have been absolutely useless. i'd have no problem if he dropped back down to 140 and fought taylor or ramirez, just someone who can actually fight back and is isnt washed up

But which fighter really has a great resume at welter these days? Porter probably has the best but he doesn't always win. Spence and TC are unbeaten but they haven't fought each other...difference is TC unified completely the 140lb division.

Benavidez was a statue on one leg. Brook's face is paper mache at this point. Amir Khan has been shot for quite awhile. How do you screw up your career this royally??? He should've been screaming for a fight with Spence as soon as Spence came back. So we get Bud-Manny next? Meh

His best win is Postol who was ranked #1 at 140 and coming off a stoppage victory of Matthysee.

i just want him to fight someone for once who has something about them and is there to win, not just to go a few rounds and pick up a paycheck

This. Postol remains a stiff challenge for anyone at 140 even at 36 years old. Gamboa was never elite past 126, or at least never achieved anything to prove he was... Ranked #8 at 135 by the TBRB at the time he fought Bud, which was as good as he ever got above 126 I think.

Would be nice to see Bud face a top ranked dude at Welter before he gets too old though.

Then how was Gamboa winning the fight against Crawford before Crawford hurt him?
