  • Comments Thread For: Berlanga: I'm Like a Home Run Player, Everyone Wants To See Me For The Knockouts

Heavy-handed boxer Edgar "The Chosen One" Berlanga does his best to maintain a bond with his Puerto Rican roots. Although he is not fluent in Spanish, that is not an impediment for him to try to start a conversation.

Perfect matchup for sure. If Nelson can stick around for a few rounds, it could get very interesing.

Awesome fight but doubt that happens now. I wouldn't mind him fighting guys like Ievgen Khytrov or Demond Nicholson.

Keep feeding him bums until he beats Ali Raymi's consecutive 1st round knockout record.

Then give him a top 20 guy to boost him in the alphabet rankings.

Edgar Berlanga can have a distinguished, and a successful career in boxing, if he stays focused, and disciplined. I saw a video recording on fighthype, where he was having an emotional breakdown. In which he was cursing repeatedly while complaining about his critics on Instagram. In life your always going to have doubters, haters, and enemies. You can't let them get to you, to the point that you become self destructive. That would only help prove their point, whatever their negative point about you happens to be. In order to continue to be a success in boxing, you must maintain your mental strength. It's what true winners count on to get them through the adversities that they'll face throughout their careers. I hope that Berlanga can withstand the onslaughts of criticisms, and the struggles in the ring. If he can overcome those challenges then he can have a distinguished, and successful career, and possibly become a superstar. That has yet to be determined, he's still got a long way to go before he reaches that level of success, or stardom.

Those are two good opponents for him to be matched against. They would be a continued step up, and exactly what he needs right about now. First up should be Ievgen Khytrov, and then followed up by Demond Nicholson, that would improve on the caliber of his opponents.
