Carlos Negron didn't demonstrate textbook technique, but the veteran heavyweight produced another quick knockout Saturday night. The Puerto Rican-born Negron beat up Rafael Rios before dropping and stopping him in the second round of a scheduled six-rounder at Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. Their fight aired as the opener on FS2, not FOX, due to FOX's national coverage of president-elect Joe *****'s victory speech.

Although Carlos Negron dropped, and stopped Rafael Rios he looked slow, methodical, and sloppy. He neglected proper technique, and defense in order to get the knockout win. This approach will cost him in future fights, this opponent did nothing for his career, or ranking. I don't see him fighting for a world title by any stretch of the imagination. He's been knocked out in all of his three losses, indicative of a weak chin. In two of those losses his opponents just jumped on him aggressively at the bell, and got him out early by two no names. He needs to work on his speed, defense, footwork, and execution, thats basically everything.
