After all Oscar done for canelo, that treacherous little rat!

Oscar made him who he is, he plucked him out of the Mexican ******, sprinkled the golden boy dust and strapped the rocket to him, and this is how he repaysif it wasn't for Oscar, Canelo would be fighting in Mexican Market towns for a few pesos!

    Lol. I agree somewhat.

But Canelo put in the work to become the best. He’s earned what he’s gotten.

I thought Canelo did the fighting to get to where he is, a lot of managers could have got Canelo to the top, its a bit unfair to judge as who knows what has gone on behind the scenes with them.

Nelo's talent would have been picked up by another promoter had it not been for DLH

I agree.. GBP really gave him the push to become what he is. He is a good fighter but I just dont think he deserves all the praise.

He fought in a watered down era with low standards and he was chosen to be the mexican star.

Very true butt.... in life you reach a crossroad that DLH himself should have payed attention to in his own case. Unfortunately we all have our personal demons! Viva Mexico both DLH and Canelo are certified ATGS

I’m calling it right now, Oscar will make Vergil Ortiz the next face of boxing. Not only is Vergil style fan friendly i.e. 16-0 all by KO, the kid is also Mexican American the biggest demographic of boxing fans today. Add that Vergil also fights in the 2nd most glamorous division @ 147 lbs in the sport and at 22 yrs old is already ranked #2 by the WBO & #5 by the WBC @ 147 plus is the WBA gold champion at welterweight. Sooner or later a champ will be mandated to give Vergil a shot @ the belt and when that happens you’ll see the rise of the Golden Boy. Many have counted Oscar out before but he’s the one that rebuilt Canelo after his loss to Mayweather give the man his due he knows how to built stars.

We have to understand 1 thing....the athlete makes himself great. Promoters get paid to......keep that talent in house ? FOR LIFE ?

Oscar ate two big lawsuit settlements for the guy. The last one being for 20 million. He got him a guarantee few hundred million and got dissed in the end. I like Canelo as a fighter but the ego on him is out of this world these days. I see people talking about “he should be his own boss” and yeah he can but there’s benefits to not being that you can’t make up for. You can’t be everywhere at the same time, you are on the outside of the politics and nobody owes you a single favor. First chance they get he will get jacked on scorecards because unlike Floyd he doesn’t have a haymon to run the show.
