Comments Thread For: Arum Expects Berchelt vs. Valdez To Be Fight of The Year Candidate

Top Rank chairman Bob Arum was just a couple of days removed from having promoted the highly significant fight between Teofimo Lopez and Vasiliy Lomachenko, which Lopez won by unanimous decision to unify lightweight world titles at the conference center of the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, when he began to look ahead one of the other highly significant fights he will promote before the end of the year.

Valdez will have to fight the fight of his life and be willing to go through hell in order for this fight to be competitive. It’s possible but not likely.

I think it's going to be like 6 rounds of war but Valdez goes out on his shield

With so much dissapointing performances during this covid crap.. I almost want this fight to wait until fans can attend. This is HUGE! if there is a ko it won't be Valdez on the floor. I wouldnt think twice putting money on Valdez if it was the original version of the fighter I traveled to watch three different times in three diferent states. Now in the Reynose camp I'm keeping my money in my pocket. I've been against that move from the beginning. Still think it was a bad move. I would like nothing more than to say I was wrong and eat my words. I'm not too stuborn to admit I was wrong. I hope this is a case of that. If not, I hope all the hype is exposed and good fighters don't keep falling into the Reynose trap.

I hope Lomachenko fights the winner of Berchelt vs. Valdez, Stevenson fights winner of Herring vs. Frampton, and then the big one! Unify!

I think so too. Berchelt is a huge 130 pounder and Valdez just came from 126. They could almost be 2 classes apart in weight in reality.
