Comments Thread For: Mayweather: Tank Is The Top Dog; We Don't Wanna Call Different Names Out

SAN ANTONIO Floyd Mayweather wants Gervonta Davis to fight at least twice in 2021, three times if possible. Mayweather wouldn't discuss who Davis might fight next year, however, when he was asked about potential opponents during a post-fight press conference after his brutal sixth-round knockout of Leo Santa Cruz late Saturday night at Alamodome. As soon as undefeated, elite lightweights Teofimo Lopez and Devin Haney were mentioned as possible foes for lightweight title fights, Mayweather, whose company promotes Davis, declared that this wasn't the appropriate time to talk about upcoming opponents.

Maybe they should do a poll and let fans select his next opponent then fight someone no one asked for.

Well done Floyd! You have a superstar in the making! Hahahahahaha! And I love seeing all the nationalistic/race based hate for Davis and Mayweather lol. Can we imagine how much Davis “boxingscene” love there would be for him if he was Linford/Winston Davies from Salford or Alejandro Fuentes from Boyle Heights?

They will bring Tank along following the Mayweather blueprint. The only difference is Tank will accumulate more physical damage because of the way he fights. But if successful, he will make plenty of money like Floyd did for his family. And Tank has a more entertaining, fan friendly style.

They are afraid of calling out other names for... how many years since he became champ the first time? Yes, since that win.

Floyd and Haymon need to build Tank the way they see fit, just like every other promotional company.

Tank has that one punch KO that fights fan love. If he stays fit and healthy, he should get far. Just stay away from Broner should be rule no.1

                  Very true

For a minute I thought broner was gonna compromise tanks future partying all the time

Mayweather seems to have put him back in line . Boxers have a pretty limited shelf life so they don’t want to be wasting their prime getting drunk and throwing dice
