Israel Gonzalez just upset Sho Ishida in a IBF Super Flyweight title eliminator, in Japan, for Jerwin Arcanjas title. However, Israel already tried once vs. Jerwin and got KO. Its important to note that Israel was 21 years old at his first attempt at gold; the same year ( 2018 ) the kid provided a stiff test for the former WBA Superfly world-champion Khalid Yafai -- many felt that Kal was lucky to retain his title.

This is Israel's third attempt at a world-title at just 23 years of age. Roman Gonzalez is ten years Israel's senior, and has a lot of miles on the meter, this will be 'Chocolatito's' 53 professional fight and 18th title defense! Roman needs to be careful, age catches up to everyone, and 'Jiga' is on home-soil and very hungry.

He seems to have forgotten about the Thai boxers being best in the world - surprisingly.

Right, Jiga has got his confidence back after doing very well against Kal Yafai, he probably thought he won. This should be a good fight, as long as he can withstand the pressure style of Gonzalez.
