  • Comments Thread For: Bradley: Teofimo Lopez Beat The Top Guy at 135 - Time To Go To 140!

Former two division world champion Timothy Bradley believes Teofimo Lopez has nothing left to accomplish at the lightweight limit of 135-pounds. He would like to see Lopez move up in weight to challenge the winner of the 2021 junior welterweight unification between Jose Ramirez and Josh Taylor, who will battle for the WBO, IBF, WBA, WBC titles.

If he can remain at lightweight then there’s far better fights to be made.

This is exactly what Teo should do.
Tank, Ryan and Haney will have to move up eventually why not establish himself at 140 be the man and wait for these guys to outgrow 135.
All these dudes besides Tank can only last maybe 1 more year.

Undisputed in 2 weight classes - Incredible accomplishment!

"He's done at 135. He beat arguably the best pound-for-pound guy in the world at 135 and he took all the straps. He has no business left at 135, and he doesn't have to struggle to make that weight anymore. He has the ball in his court now. It's time to go up to 140," Bradley told ESPN.

Yep, that part! If it wasn't a struggle to make 135, then I would say "go get Haney," and make it official, but if the opportunity to fight the Ramirez vs. Taylor winner, then MAN UP!

Sounds like a good plan but what's the rush? That's where a lot of fighters start making mistakes. Lopez really isn't all that big and he's not 5'8 as listed more like 5'6 he would be undersized at 140 If he's willing to take that risk than hey but he only 23 and there's great match ups for him right at 135 whether it be Haney, Garcia, Campbell, Tank, Stevenson, Linares..

Both Ramirez and Taylor are too big for Lopez there's guys Lopez size right at 135 Loma is one of if not the the smallest at 135

One thing about it when Loma small as he is did put the pressure on when the going got tough for Lopez he almost broke him down. Ramirez and Taylor are known for that. Lopez don't do to well on the backfoot he'd be getting tagged up late by the much longer Ramirez and Taylor..

It's what DLH or Floyd did too, at a fast rate. Even Manny?
