Xander Zayas picked up exactly where he left off six weeks ago. The only things that changed since then were his age and opponent, as a now 18-year old Zayas made quick work of overmatched Anthony Curtiss. A flurry of punches put an end to their Telemundo preliminary contest at just 0:55 into the 1st round Friday evening at Osceola Heritage Park in Kissimmee, Florida.

He's way past this level. Give him 6 round fights and fighters with at least 10 fights with a winning record. Kid looks like a sensational talent.

Again Ricardi hit the nail on the head, Xander Zayas needs to fight opponents with at least 10-15 fights on their record. The majority of those 10-15 fights have to be wins. At this stage he's learning nothing from these fights, and he might pick up some bad habits because he's winning so easily. If he's supposed to be the second coming of Felix Trinidad, then his promoter has to match him with quality opponents. The kid looks accomplished, he doesn't need to be protected this way. I know everyone develops at a different pace. That said lets not forget Wilfredo Benitez won the Junior Welterweight Title at 17 years old. He had to beat the great Antonio "Kid Pambele" Cervantes. Xander Zayas is going places, don't hold him back with these mismatches.
