Comments Thread For: Devin Haney: Yuriorkis Gamboa Is The Toughest Test Of My Career

WBC lightweight titlist Devin Haney is adamant that his 25th career bout will be his hardest one to date against Yuriorkis Gamboa, a fighter who's old enough to be his father. The 21-year-old Haney will be taking on the 38-year old Gamboa on Nov. 7 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida on DAZN.

Certainly can't complain about how Devin's being matched compared to anyone else his age, but claiming a shot Gamboa who's soon to be 39 as your toughest opponent is hardly a ringing endorsement of the rest of the dudes on your ledger...

Gumbo-Davis was a mess of a fight. Gumbo got hurt early wanted to leave but was required to stay and fight. Davis showed nothing in that fight. So these two guys get a payday good for them. It is nothing I am looking towards watching but then again boxing is in a Zone that it never intended to land in. Big money will not fight, fans not allowed, interest dropping overall. EH give it three years for Haney see if he is still talked about in a respectful way as a fighter. Everything is in a holding pattern like it or not. Even a good fight feels a bit less then for some reason. Due to state of the .................(fill in the blank).

For sure. Gamboa being his toughest test thus far is only a problem for me because Haney is now a two time champion. If you take the titles out of the equation this isn’t so bad. He’s super young.

If Tank beats LSC and Haney beats Gamboa those 2 will fight in what's promoted as a super fight

              Sad but true...

If I was Haney I wouldn’t be screaming this from the rooftops.

Definitely not bad for a guy his age but once you consider he's been bragging himself that everyone is a duck but him?

                    Doesn't look good.

Lopez is taking on Loma. Garcia is fighting Campbell.

Haney vs Gamboa? LOL. He could have at least fought someone respectable.
