UNCASVILLE, Connecticut Luis Nery's first 122-pound title fight wasn't nearly as easy as many within the boxing industry anticipated. The strong southpaw had problems penetrating Aaron Alameda's jab and didn't land a lot of flush punches on his previously unbeaten countryman Saturday night at Mohegan Sun Arena. Mexico's Nery (31-0, 24 KOs) still defeated Alameda (25-1, 13 KOs) by unanimous decision in their 12-rounder to win a vacant version of the WBC's super bantamweight title and moved into position for a championship unification fight.
