Comments Thread For: Herring-Frampton Has Green Light By WBO - But Winner Must Face Stevenson

Jamel Herring and Carl Frampton get to stick to the original program. Concerns over their oft-postponed title fight seeing the light of day were alleviated as clearance has been granted to proceed with such a contest. BoxingScene.com has learned that the World Boxing Organization (WBO) will permit Herring to make a voluntary defense of his junior lightweight title before being ordered to enter a fight with mandatory title challenger Shakur Stevenson.

Herring a quitter, can’t justify how the WBO is giving him another voluntary, while Patrick Teixeira isn’t even allowed to fight Charlo next for undisputed @ 154 lbs.

Stevenson is young, should stay active and fight someone descent at 130 before the end of the year

So the WBO just bent it's own rules for Top Rank and Frank Warren?

Why can't they bend their rules and let Texeira and Charlo unify at 154? Is it because that involves Golden Boy Promotions and PBC?

Boxing media should press the WBO on this question and not let them off the hook.

          Herring vs Frampton

I'm disgusted by the WBO for bending their own rules in the interest of money. What's the use of having ratings if Frampton can simpmy fight for another title and substandard Herring can do two voluntaties. The WBO leadership should be ashamed.
