Comments Thread For: Davis, Santa Cruz: Winner Of Our Fight Should Be Top 10 Pound-For-Pound

Assuming they don't fight to a draw, Gervonta Davis or Leo Santa Cruz will leave the ring October 31 with world titles in two weight classes. Davis and Santa Cruz believe that the winner of their Showtime Pay-Per-View main event also should earn more esteem among fans and media. They agreed during a virtual press conference Tuesday that whoever emerges victorious from their 12-round, 130-pound title fight deserves a place on pound-for-pound lists.

Little men always so obsessed with p4p recognition. Sad. P4P is like the affirmative action of combat sports so the little guys get more recognition that they think they deserve.

You can't just whine your way into P4P, there are no Karen's in boxing.

Was LSC interested in getting in the p4p rankings? I thought he wasn’t. He had a top 5 p4p inside his division before but he wasn’t interested with it.

For Davis, another top 5 p4p had been calling him out for a long time already but he didn’t seem interested too.

An irony that both are interested now

Santa Cruz , yes, Tank no
. Santa cruz is really a featherwieight and Tank is a lightweight-jr.welterweight. So lets be honest here. Its a lose-lose for Tank in this situation.

If Tank obliterates him early, people will say he was a blown up featherweight. If its close people will praise Santa Cruz. If Tank loses ? OMG! People will be like i told you so.!!!!

Only Santa Cruz, he's the one taking all the risk.
