And he’d get crushed by both. I like the kid but he’s not ready for that level.

I can see a Lopez/Verdejo fight down the line at 140 though.

Your not there yet pal . Need to beat at least one good known opponent before he can start going after the elite , someone like Ricky Burns.

Lmao. As much as like Verdejo I’d be lying if I didn’t have a similar immediate reaction.

I think he should fight someone like the Dominican veteran who got robbed two years ago against Easter Jr.

Felix Verdejo needs to win another 1 to 3 fights in order to prove he has the fire, and endurance necessary to challenge of r a championship. If he can beat the next few opponents impressively, then he's earned the right to pound his chest. From what I had seen endurance was his failure in the past. I can also see where going up to the 140 pound division just might be the right move. Drying out to make a weight which leaves you in a weakened state is a major problem for a boxer. I think he would be stronger, and sturdier at the higher weight. That being said, lets see how he does in his next few fights. I looking forward to his next fight, with a better caliber fighter than his last opponent. Taking on the only fighter to beat him, (Antonio Lozada Torres), would be a good test for him. It would also give him the opportunity to reverse his only loss, and bolster his psyche.

I don't care what Bob Arum wants, Verdejo shouldn't get to jump to the front of the line to face the winner.

He needs to earn the shot just like everybody else.

Never been impressed with Verdejo. The powers that be are aching for a spanish speaking Puerto Rican star yet this is not the one
