This will be the sixth time that Roman 'Chocolatito' Gonzalez has fought a Mexican in Mexico. The first time Choco fought in Mexico was when Gonzalez was at mini-weight in 2009 ; Roman defended the WBA 105 title against Francisco Rosas, in Oaxaca.

Four out of sixth of 'Chocolatito's' fights in Mexico have been world title, all for the WBA.

Israel Gonzalez, performed well against common opponent Kal Yafai and recently pulled off a great win upset against Sho Isida in a IBF title eliminator. Needless to say Isreal Gonzalez is in top form and very hungry.

Roman has had it tough in Mexico, I'm sure he remembers his stale performances vs. Francisco Rosas and Manuel Vargas, Choco needs to remember that Isreal Gonzalez has youth and is very fresh at 23 years old. Whereas, Roman Gonzalez is beyond his prime at 33 years of age, he needs to be careful here, Israel almost beat Kal Yafai for the same title ; this is the kids second attempt.

      Looking forward to this event.
