  • Comments Thread For: WBC Heavyweight Mandatory Situation Remains Unclear Even as Povetkin-Whyte II is Set

The specifics of the WBC's heavyweight mandatory schedule remain up in the air even though the winner of the rematch between interim titlist Alexander Povetkin and Dillian Whyte will be in position to eventually challenge for the full title, WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman told BoxingScene.com on Wednesday night.

Even if Whyte becomes mandatory again, I don’t think it’s fair that they reinstate the same timeframe as he had before he lost.

His loss should make him lose the right to that and should be seen as a brand-new mandatory and a new timeframe applies.

Expect to see something silly like them put Dubios as an eliminator before the winner gets the shot!

Even Dan RAFEAL is into lying now?!! Whyte wasn't the Mandatory For a 1000 days. Even suliman debunked that. Let that propaganda die already.

            You're so right.

Next time he shouldn't have to wait a quarter of as long.

            Good point.

Well, he became the ACTUAL mandatory when he cheated and beat Rivas.

Whyte was stupid to fight Povetkin with the title shot in his pocket. He gave the wbc another sanction fee by fighting dangerous povetkin, now even if he wins the rematch the wbc wants to sc rew him again out of a mandatory shot. wbc is a filthy op. Sulaiman is a scumbag living in a secret palace bought and paid for by the blood of wbc slave boxers.

There was no propaganda, just careless, sloppy writing by Rafeal. Whyte was the WBC N01 contender for over 1000 days, but he didn't become mandatory challenger till he beat Rivas in a final eliminator last year.
