Xander Zayas looks to be a positive individual along the lines of Felix Trinidad. On top of that his physical condition is tight, and defined. I haven't seen one of his fights yet, but this Friday I will. I'm not impressed with the selection of his opponent, I've never heard of him.
Orlando Salgado only has one fight, while Xander has four. His opponent might prove my assessment wrong, but thats highly unlikely. They have to put Xander with more seasoned fighters so that he can develop his skill, and will in a progressive manner. It's hard to look forward to fights which on paper appear to be mismatches. Top Rank get better opponents, and schedule fights once a month, or once every two months for Xander Zayas. If this is the next Puerto Rican superstar then put him in a Tommy Hearns , Sugar Ray Leoard, pace of fighting often, and better opponents. This kid could out shine all other Puerto Rican fighters from the starting gate. I'd like to see that happen, and Puerto Ricans are hungry for the next great Puerto Rican superstar to emerge from the pack.
