Comments Thread For: Jose Ramirez Cautioned By WBO Of Overdue Mandatory Defense vs. Catterall

Whatever doubt lingered in Jose Ramirez emerging with his titles intact versus mandatory challenger Viktor Postol was removed once the scorecards were read in hailing him as winner by majority decision.

And here comes the sanctioning bodies to F things up and try to prevent a great match up a ton of people want to see ( Ramirez vs Taylor) to feed us a garbage fight with someone who has no reason being ranked that high. Message to WBO, step out of the way and let the big dogs eat...

Bob just wants to milk Ramirez a little bit more before he feeds him to Talyor. That's all.

Catterall will be tough fight for Ramirez. I think Ramirez will win a close decision but it will definitely be competitive.

What do you mean Catterall shouldn't be ranked that high? He's won the inter-continental WBO in 2015 and defended it over ten times.

That's how you climb the rankings.

Catterall is a banana-skin for Ramirez, very good fighter and not an easy win for any one in the division.

Would the WBO be that ******? I could see enforcing the mandatory if Josh Taylor lost, but not if there's a chance for a 4-belt unification fight! No matter what they choose to do, Ramirez vs. Taylor, make it happen! F*^k a belt!

I think Catterall will show whether the Frank Warren or Dillian Whyte method of waiting for a title shot works best. I think Catterall will go the way of Yarde when the time comes

This is just Warren and Paco getting hyped to do their usual ongoing WBO Bidness.

Way happened to the "unifications trump mandatories" agreement that the sanctioning bodies were supposed to have made?

Taylor v Ramirez, with a contractual undertaking that winner makes first defence against catterall?

Then other mandatories in agreed rotation as they come due.
