Comments Thread For: Jose Ramirez: Just Want To Be Able To Breathe Sigh Of Relief With Fight So Close

The last thing Jose Carlos Ramirez wanted to hear was anything COVID-related resulting in a third postponement of his mandatory title defense. The unbeaten and unified junior welterweight titlist has literally waited all year for a fight to materialize with Ukraine's Viktor Postol, with the two finally set to square off this weekend live on ESPN+ from The Bubble in Las Vegas. Their third try at meeting for a first time is closer than it has ever been to seeing the light of day, even with the brief scare over the possibility of Ramirez coming in one team member light.

If Postol doesn't take your straps then Taylor will. I've got a feeling Postol will conjure up one last big performance and at least take it to the wire. Might be worth a cheeky bet.

Maybe, but Postol is gonna have to keep moving and throw a solid, snappy jab, maybe a double jab with a straight backhand and hold on the inside as much as he can get away with. If Ramirez gets him against the ropes I think he'll break him in half like he did against Hooker. Postol has proved to be slippery in the past but I think his best is behind him. Looking forward to it nonetheless!
